The Fishing
The pristine rivers of Iceland’s northern highlands are home to wild, trophy salmonids—both migratory and resident fish. The landscape is untouched and wild, and you’ll feel like you have the world to yourself. Brown trout and arctic char that may have never seen a fly inhabit the Blanda and Svartá Rivers, and they grow to epic proportions. The browns average 20 inches, but there are plenty of monsters up to 30 inches and beyond. The char are stout and fight hard, especially in the cold water. Each day, there will be two rods available on productive Atlantic-salmon beats, as well.
Split between drift-boat floats and wading sessions, this trip gives you the opportunity to fish some of the most productive and untouched waters in Iceland. Fishing with streamers, nymphs, and dry flies, you’ll get shots at the fish of your dreams. One famous angler who stayed at the lodge in June of 2025 called it the best brown-trout fishing of his life and has already booked a return trip.
